Shawnee Mission School District Project Blue Eagle Career and Tech Campus

Newkirk Novak Construction Partners converted an existing maintenance facility into classrooms and technical shop space for Shawnee Mission School District’s Career and Technical Education department. The Project Blue Eagle program allows students to experience an applied learning environment for future careers in EMS, fire and law enforcement.

In addition to exterior improvements and landscaping, the scope of work included all new lighting, HVAC, fire sprinkler and fire service line. Classroom spaces, conference rooms and staff offices were added to the interior. The shop/garage space serves as the perfect training facility, giving students the opportunity to easily work with and around the emergency vehicles.
